Do Silk Oil of Morocco products contain silicones?
Some of our products do contain silicone or silicone derivatives and are used in some of our products for a number of different functions mainly as a conditioning agent and to act as a carrying agent for other ingredients. It is also used to help reduce blow drying time and to help protect against heated styling tools as well as enhancing set and dry combing. Cyclopentasiloxane is uded to help deliver and spread other ingredients to hair. As it is volatile silicone derivative, it evaporates upon application after delivering the key ingredients that provide moisture and shine and is water soluble. It is important to note that there are literally hundreds of differnt silicones available for different functions in the marketplace. Some good and some not so good. We only use silicone blends that are designed for cosmetic and haircare formulations that evaporate upon application and are water soluble once formulated into the product
